Can rotted trim be repaired with wood filler?
Filler on rotten wood buys a season. A lasting rotted trim repair means cutting the bad wood out, finding where the water was getting in and fixing that first, then replacing the trim.
What is the difference between fascia and soffit?
The fascia is the board along the roof edge that the gutters hang on. The soffit is the underside of the overhang, and it is usually vented so the attic can breathe. When one rots the other is often not far behind, so we replace fascia and soffit together where it makes sense.
